The Friends of the Colusa County Free Library work toward financially supporting and generating community interest in the Library's services, programs, and facilities.
As ambassadors to the community, the Friends believe the library is one of our community's greatest assets as it serves more people in all walks of life than any other institution. |

Hoopla is an increasingly popular way that Colusa County residents can access eBooks, audiobooks, comics, music, movies, and TV. With hoopla and a valid library card, patrons can borrow, instantly stream, and download dynamic content via hoopla’s mobile app or website.
But this popular service comes with a cost per title accessed. Friends of the Colusa County Library continues to be its source of revenue. $10,000 ensures we can keep Hoopla funded for about one year. Make checks out to. Friends of the Colusa County Library. Meet the Author!

Bob Mills, author of THE LAUGH MAKERS, a Behind-the-Scenes Tribute to Bob Hope's Incredible Gag Writers will join us by Zoom, January 28 at 6:30.
Watch together with us at the Colusa Library, 738 Market St, Colusa, or from home. Zoom link to come! In The Laugh Makers, the author takes us on a side-splitting journey to a long ago era of slapstick sketch comedy that lovingly explores the fascinating world of variety TV's "gag men," those wit-blessed wordsmiths to whom the book pays long-overdue homage. Here is a priceless collection of backstage stories, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and revealingly candid photos that fondly recall a golden age of television that is now but a memory. In this book, you'll meet the talented stars and the gifted writers who helped make their audiences laugh -- and, most important, you'll laugh all over again. Robert L. Mills, a native of San Francisco, served in the Navy after high school and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1962 and the University of California Hastings Law in 1965. He practiced law for ten years before moving to Hollywood to write for television. Mills worked on The Dinah Shore Show and The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts before joining Bob Hope as a staff writer in 1977. He has also written for the Los Angeles Times, and in 1999 he became an enrichment lecturer for Crystal Cruise, performing shows based on his experiences with Hope aboard numerous cruise ships. He lives in Studio City, California, with his wife Shelley. |

In Loving Memory of Peggy Townzen (1942-2025)
Her love for literature was matched only by her unwavering support for anyone seeking comfort and joy in the pages of a book. As a dedicated librarian, a true Friend of the Library, and a passionate community supporter, she gave her heart to the people and stories she cherished most. |
“Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” ~ sage advice from Mr. Roger's mother.
